OCN Theater to Add Multi-Channel Broadcasting Service
NTT Com announced today that it will add a 4th Media multi-channel broadcasting service provided by Plala Networks Inc. and On-line TV Co., Ltd. to its OCN Theater online video selection in July. The new service will be provided to subscribers of OCN Theater through NTT East and West’s Flets Hikari FTTP service. Connection to a dedicated OCN Theater set-top box will allow a user to enjoy more than 60 video streaming channels providing a variety of programming, including movies, dramas, music, animation, sports and news. Featuring stable digital high-definition (up to 6Mbps) video streaming via cable, the new service is less likely to be affected by weather conditions than conventional broadcasting systems based on radio waves.
