TOKYO, JAPAN and BEIJING, CHINA --- NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and Beijing Blue I.T. Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as ChinaCache), a leading content distribution network (CDN) service provider in China, today jointly announced their agreement of a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, NTT Com and ChinaCache will work together to promote CDN services in the global market, utilizing each other’s platforms to provide these services to potential customers starting February 9, 2007. This is the first instance of full-scale CDN commercialization between a Japanese telecommunication company and a Chinese CDN provider.
As one of the world’s leading information and communication technology (ICT) solution companies, NTT Com has since 2002 been providing CDN service "Smart Contents Delivery (SCD)" on a global scale through its Tier1 Global IP Network. NTT Com’s powerful global Internet backbone enables it to provide reliable and high- quality services. "ChinaCache", the leader of China’s CDN market, provides customized CDN services and solutions to customers both in China and overseas. ChinaCache has built up a solid CDN network which effectively meets the needs of a wide range of customers locally and internationally. By working together, the two companies will take advantage of their respective network and market resources to further promote CDN services.
Demand for CDN has been expanding rapidly especially in the lead-up to the 2008 Olympic Games in line with the growing trend for companies to distribute content globally. ChinaCache can take advantage of this trend to provide services to Chinese companies in China in a high quality web environment. In addition, with the strong demand for distribution of content between Japan and China, NTT Com expects to be able to provide smooth web-operations to Japanese companies having end-users in China.
"NTT Com views this partnership as an important initiative in expanding SCD to China," commented Takanobu Maeda, Vice President of the Global IP Network Sales Department at NTT Com. "ChinaCache has shown itself to be the CDN market leader in China’s fast growing Internet market, and NTT Com is very pleased to have joined hands with it. We believe this is a win-win decision that will bring great benefits to both sides in the long run," continued Maeda.
Wang Song, Chief Executive Officer of ChinaCache said, "ChinaCache is honored to be working with a high-caliber international company such as NTT Com. Our partnership with NTT Com gives us a powerful new global technology platform that will allow us to serve a wider range of customers in the China market. NTT Com’s vast network and market resources will bring significant value to this partnership."
