NTT Com to Expand Industry Leading SLA for
NTT/VERIO Global IP Network Service

TOKYO, JAPAN—NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that it will expand its NTT/VERIO Global IP Network Service Level Agreement (SLA) to include intra-Europe and intra-Asia. This new SLA, which will cover round-trip packet transmission (latency) and packet loss in these two regions, will go into effect from December 1, 2002.

NTT/VERIO Global IP Network backbone latency and packet loss is now covered in six areas: intra-Japan, intra-U.S., Japan-U.S., Japan-Europe, trans-Atlantic, intra-Europe (Amsterdam, London, Paris, Frankfurt and Madrid) and intra-Asia (Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong and Singapore). This industry leading SLA is in line with NTT Com's goal to provide customers with enhanced IP product and network services on a global scale.

Introduced in November 2001, the NTT/VERIO Global IP Network SLA guarantees performance standards covering availability, latency, packet loss and customer notification. If these standards are not met, NTT Com will refund a fixed portion of its charges. (Please see attachment for further details.)

The SLA covers all Global IP Network Service customers and no additional charges will be levied.

The Global IP Network Service offers direct access to the NTT/VERIO Global IP Network, a high quality Tier 1 IP backbone. This network has been enhanced both in terms of direct connection to major ISPs in Asia, the U.S., Europe and Oceania, and in terms of bandwidth to support end users' broadband Internet usage. The network currently boasts the industry's largest dedicated Internet bandwidth of 8 Gbps between Japan and U.S. to provide end-users with fast, smooth global Internet connections. Through this network, NTT Com offers a variety of value-added services, including Global IP Security Gateway, which is a IPSec type IP-VPN, and Smart Content Delivery for effective content distribution.
