FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NTT Communications to Expand Arcstar Full-Channel Service Area

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that it will begin offering the Arcstar Full Channel Service (FCS) in Taiwan as of today, based on an agreement with Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom. The service offers end-to-end high-quality and reliable digital leased lines.

Based on NTT Com’s range of high quality, reliable Arcstar global leased circuit services, offered world-wide since 1999, the Arcstar FCS as one of those services is able to meet the ever-more diverse and specific needs of customers for network operation and customer services. In partnerships with AT&T and Korea Telecom, the FCS service has already been introduced in the United States and South Korea, respectively. In order to further meet customers’ demands for a reliable broadband network environment, NTT Com has decided to extend its service to Taiwan.

The service guarantees a monthly network operation rate of 99.85%. If that rate is not achieved, monthly network usage charges will be refunded as follows:

* Continuous malfunctions of one-minute or longer are cumulated.
Note 1 : With other global leased-circuit services, in case of one or more malfunctions of more than one continuous hour each, approximately 0.139% of the monthly network-usage charge will be refunded per hour.
Note 2 : The above rate is applied for end-to-end domestic Japanese and Taiwanese access lines.
Note 3 : No additional usage charge will be levied for the service.

Users can enjoy one-stop service, including registration, billing, and reporting of malfunctions. Also, users are protected against currency-exchange risks by an annual contract providing for yen-based fixed monthly charges for both domestic and global offices.
