Virtual Server

COMPUTE (Flat Type)

Your virtual compute resources in the cloud. Allocate virtual servers with dedicated global IP addresses for direct communication over the Internet. Combine COMPUTE Flat Type with other Cloudn services and build highly scalable and redundant cloud configurations.

Virtual Server Plan

Plan vQ V1 V2 V4 V8 V1HiM V2HiM V4HiM V8HiM V16HiM
Memory 512MB 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB 64GB
Root Disk Linux 15GB, Windows 40GB
Number of servers created Up to a total of 100 servers
  • Changes in plan for the virtual server can only be made when the virtual server is stopped
  • 1vCPU equates to 1.6GHz CPU
  • The root disk is non-volatile, so contents will not be erased when the virtual server is stopped
  • Additional charges apply for root disk usage exceeding 40GB

Official Templates

Build custom environments from official templates for instant, flexible and scalable workspaces.

  • CentOS 6.5 64-bit
  • CentOS 7.1 64-bit
  • Ubuntu14.04 64-bit
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit(80GB Type)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition (100GB Type)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition(100GB Type)
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit (RDS SAL) (max. 10 remote desktop connections)
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit with Office 2013(100GB Type)
  • Plesk on Cent OS 6.5 64-bit
  • Microsoft Windows Server is provided with Datacenter Edition under NTT Communication's SPLA License.

License mobility is supported by Microsoft software assurance. See the following site for more details:

Notes for Microsoft SQL Server

  • Microsoft SQL Server includes 100GB of root disk storage. 40GB of this storage capacity is used for the OS and SQL. Usage above 100GB incurs additional charges.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Standard Edition supports 1 to 4 CPUs. (Plan v1, Plan v2 and Plan v4)
  • Operations (new installation of SQL Server failover class) that require installation media are not supported in this server because this server is a fixed to stand-alone type.

Storage capacity is available in 40GB, 100GB, 300GB, 500GB and 1TB disks. Each virtual server supports a maximum of 5 disks.

  • Maximum 500 disks, including root disks, per user
  • Freely move disks between virtual servers
  • Deleting a virtual server does not erase its allocated disks
  • Disk sizes cannot be changed

Snapshot Backup

  • You can store a maximum of 8 snapshot generations
  • Creating a snapshot after 8 generations will cause the oldest snapshot to be deleted
  • Maximum 150 snapshots per account
  • Monthly backup date settings range from 1 to 28

Create a template from a snapshot backup to duplicate a virtual server.

  • Maximum 100 templates per account
  • Template must be registered in the HTTP server (QCOW image format)
  • Templates above 100GB bytes cannot be uploaded
  • Microsoft Windows Server OS is provided with DataCenter Edition under NTT Communication's SPLA License and must be used
  • Provisions of the OS license must be observed

ISO Image Upload

Create virtual servers by uploading ISO images from installation CDs.

  • ISO images must be uploaded in ISO file format via HTTP server for registration
  • ISO images must be less than 100GB
  • Microsoft Windows Server OS is provided with DataCenter Edition under NTT Communication's SPLA License and must be used
  • Provisions of the OS license must be observed

One global IP address allocated per server.

  • Global IP addresses are randomly allocated
  • IP addresses are fixed until the virtual server is deleted

See Related Resources for Cloudn Compute (FLAT Type) operations manual.

Specific zones may be selected when creating virtual servers.

  • Selectable Zones:ZoneA(Jp-e1a),ZoneB(Jp-e1b)

Security Group

The virtual server can be access controlled by applying a security group (SG). The same access control (filter rule) may be applied to virtual servers to which the same security group has been applied, to streamline group management.

  • Default Policy:Inbound(ALL Deny),Outbound(ALL Accept)
  • Filter Rule:Protocol, Port Number, IP Address (Or SG)

Your Cloudn account will be allocated one user ID with administrator privileges. This user ID can view and manage all virtual servers and disks from the customer portal.

See Related Resources for a guide to Cloudn Compute (FLAT Type) APIs.
