NTT Communications Corporation and
Computer Associates Partner to Deliver
Enterprise Management Services

 

Tokyo, Japan, November 18, 1999…NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA), announced today a joint solution framework, “Enterprise Management Services” (EMS), for providing a consulting, design, implementation and outsourcing service offerings that will help clients manage their distributed heterogeneous IT environments.

Corporations today are leveraging information technology and communications networks to expand their global business and customer reach. In todays business paradigm it is critical for corporations to design, implement and effectively manage their information technology infrastructures with advanced computing and communications systems. On the other hand, the burden for corporations to keep pace with the advancement of technology requires alternative solutions.

NTT Com’s EMS will consist of consulting, design and implementation services as well as outsourcing services to manage distributed heterogeneous IT environments. NTT Com move into the IT management market will provide customers with a one-stop-shop solution leveraging NTT Com’s proven network solutions. EMS is an integrated solution that will incorporate Network Management, Asset Management, Performance Management, Automated Software Distribution and Event Management.
Incorporating EMS services, customers can improve their service levels and reduce their costs. This will enable customers to increase their focus on their core business. In the foreseeable future, NTT Com’s EMS could acquire the customers IT staff and the IT assets. Through its international branches, NTT Com will support clients with global operations.

CA will provide NTT Com with enterprise management expertise comprised of training, education and support as well as its extensive range of products; including Neugents™, CA’s neural network based predictive management technology. In conjunction with NTT Com, CA will also help build a competence center to promote enterprise management excellence.

By using CA products and services, the NTT Com’s EMS initiative will not only cover the management and service delivery for IT desktops, servers, networks, operating systems, databases, directory services, messaging systems, and applications, but also non-traditional IT devices such as printers, vending machines and point-of-sale (POS) systems. The objective of this service is to set new standards in customer satisfaction by leveraging the reach of NTT Com’s global infrastructure.

CA anticipates substantially growing its business in Japan through this agreement with NTT Com. CA is the leading enterprise management software provider in the world, with many large corporate customers worldwide adopting Unicenter TNG as the de facto industry standard.

NTT Com plans to start full-scale operations in April 2000.
