NTT Communications Group Releases CSR Report for 2007

TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today the issuance of its annual report on corporate social responsibility (CSR) covering activities carried out by the NTT Communications Group in fiscal 2006.

The NTT Communications Group CSR Report 2007 focuses on how the organization contributed to society, helped to protect the global environment and demonstrated its respect for employees. It reviews CSR activities throughout the entire NTT Communications Group, including overseas.

A feature article in the report, for example, explains how the group coordinated an international effort to quickly restore telecommunication channels in the Far East after a powerful earthquake caused significant damage to undersea cables off the coast of Taiwan in December 2006. There is also an interview with Senior Executive Vice President and CSR Director Masae Tamura, who details group activities being implemented to solidify CSR awareness and appreciation among employees.

For enhanced credibility, the report makes use of CSR indices and provides numerical data wherever possible. In addition, third-party opinions about the group's CSR activities are provided by Mariko Kawaguchi, a senior analyst at Daiwa Institute of Research.

The printed version of the report features a universal design that has been certified by the non-profit Color Universal Design Organization. The layout incorporates colors and designs that most people find easy to read, regardless of individual differences in color vision. The online version, in addition to the same basic layout of the printed version, also offers audio content.

The Japanese version of the report became available online (www.ntt.com/csr) on October 1. The print version is expected to be issued on October 25 and audio content will be added to the online version in late October. The English version is expected to be available both online and in print from late November.

The report is available for download as a PDF file. In addition, printed copies of the report can be requested via the following contact points:

Information in the report follows the latest guidelines established by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), a non-profit organization recognized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for its role in creating and promoting standards for sustainability reports.
