NTT Com to Offer Static VoIP Numbers, “050 Anshin (Safe) Number”

NTT Com will begin offering a new service called “050 Anshin (Safe) Number” static phone numbers to customers of its VoIP service, OCN.Phone, on September 13, 2007. Users will be able to keep VoIP numbers even if they relocate, because calls to the VoIP number can be transferred to users' fixed or mobile phones. Another optional setting enables users to have callers leave voice mails without the calls being transferred. Users are then notified by email that they have voice mail waiting for them on the VoIP server. This number is for only receiving calls, not for calling out.
