NTT Com on August 1 will add two security functions - email inspection and archiving - to its existing AGILIT server hosting service for corporate customers. The email inspection service will vet outgoing messages to prevent employees from dispatching email to the wrong address or from attempting to send restricted or unencrypted attachments. The archiving function allows automatic storage of all incoming and outgoing emails, making it possible for employees to locate messages quickly and easily within their mailboxes by using data indexes. Email archiving also facilitates internal investigation of security breaches, and ensures that important data is not lost when a computer malfunctions. The two new services are targeted at companies endeavoring to comply with Japanese SOX (J-SOX, the Japanese version of Sarbanes Oxley) and the Personal Information Protection Law.
