NTT Com to Open Shanghai East Data Center and Tianjin Office

TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today the company's immediate opening of the Shanghai East Data Center, a premium data center leveraging a local data center provider's resources and facility and the August opening of a Tianjin Office, the eighth city in Greater China of NTT Com Group's office for enhanced agility in Northern China. NTT Com will be the first carrier to provide a premium data center in China.

"We have extensive experience in data center business with approximately 100 data centers worldwide, including premium data centers in Japan, the U.S. and Europe," said Naoki Kajita, Director of the Project China, Global Business Division. "In China, the demand for data centers to support mission-critical systems has become quite strong among Japanese and other multinational corporations, most notably in the financial services sector. Our expertise in quality data center operation and customer support will surely make our facility a premier choice for them."

Prior to its opening, NTT Com substantially upgraded existing installations of the data center, ensuring complete redundancy of commercial power supply, air conditioning, uninterrupted power supply (UPS), power generators, and power distribution route. The facility meets Tier 3 Standards of the U.S. Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and The Uptime Institute for concurrently maintainable infrastructure without single point of failure. The new premier data center is further enhanced by network diversity via multiple telecom operators. Customer service in English, Chinese, and Japanese will be available 24/7 at NTT Com Group's customer service center in Dalian.

The new Tianjin Office will be operated under NTT Communications China Co., Ltd. for timely local support to satisfy growing needs of one-stop Information Communication Technologies (ICT) solutions of multinational enterprises in Northern China. Tianjin, a growing business hub, has been identified as one of the four direct-controlled municipalities by the Chinese government. This is the eighth city in Greater China of NTT Com Group's offices, following Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Dalian, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
