NTT Com to Establish Representative Office in Warsaw

TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today that it will open a representative office in Warsaw, Poland on April 1 this year.

The NTT Communications Warsaw Representative Office will strengthen NTT Com's support capability in Central and Eastern Europe for the growing number of locally based Japanese and other multinational corporate customers requiring one-stop ICT solutions.

Central and Eastern Europe, including such countries as Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, is considered extremely attractive to Japanese and other multinational corporations since the markets have been rapidly growing in line with expansion of the EU. Poland has emerged as a leading destination for multinationals due to its favorable investment environment, highly-skilled workforce as well as population (at 38 million, the most populous) compared to other states in the region.

According to the CIA's The World Factbook, Poland's GDP grew 5.8% in 2006, fueled by rising private consumption, a 16.7% jump in investment, and burgeoning exports. Since 2004, EU membership and access to EU structural funds have provided a major boost to the economy. Inflow of foreign direct investment exceeded $10 billion in 2006 alone - and more than $100 billion since 1990 - with major investments being announced by foreign companies in the computer, consumer electronics, and automobile component sectors.

In order to meet demand for one-stop ICT solution services in Central and Eastern Europe, NTT Com from last November began working in partnership with S&T System Integration & Technology Distribution AG Group (S&T), Austria's largest system and network integration company. This partnership covers system and network integration for multinational corporations throughout Russia, Central, and Eastern Europe.

NTT Com received approval from Poland's Ministry of Economy to establish its new Warsaw representative office.

The office will be headed by (Mr.) Tsuyoshi Iwai and will begin operations in early April, conducting market research and promotion of ICT solutions.
