NTT Com Launches High-Quality Web Conferencing Solution in 16 Countries Overseas

TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications (NTT Com) today introduced its high-quality Web conferencing solution, dubbed the Web-Based Visual Communication Solution, in 16 countries outside Japan, including the United States and markets in Asia and Europe.

The solution, which is based on the Warp Vision service offered in Japan by NTT Resonant, Inc., an NTT Com subsidiary, enables the transmission of high-resolution (640x480 pixels) video at 2 - 8 Mbps and 30 frames per second, and CD-quality sound. NTT Com packaged the service with its Arcstar Global IP-VPN and leased lines to create a Web conferencing solution for international markets.

The increasingly globalized operations of engineering, manufacturing and other companies have created a growing demand for a convenient yet high-quality Web conferencing service that enables people to use their PCs to discuss products, etc. with co-workers overseas.

In the near future, NTT Com plans to introduce more flexible system settings to enable, for example, extended audio compression to free up bandwidth of 512 kbps or more, which would enable users not on broadband networks to maintain image quality.

On-screen operating instructions in English are also planned for non-Japanese users.

The solution is available in Australia, Belgium, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.
