IPv6 Multi-Policy Access Service Announced
|
NTT Com will begin pilot testing of virtual private networks (VPN) that connect IPv6-enabled devices, aiming at commercial introduction by March 2008. The envisioned IPv6 Multi-Policy Access Service is built on proprietary “machine-to-machine x” technology, which enables secure real-time communications between devices using protocols based on the SIP and IPsec standards.
With the installation of a dedicated encryption machine, customers will use secure VPN to link IPv6 devices operating on different networks. An on-demand security-policy feature will enable different policies to be set for different devices. Router settings will not have to be changed for each device, since NTT Com will automatically adjust encryption codes and VPN settings.
