Streamwing Mobile Plan for Video Streaming Announced

Streamwing Mobile Plan is an ASP service for enterprises that stream video to the 3G mobile phones of NTT DoCoMo, au and Vodafone. NTT Com is the first Japanese company to provide such a service.
When ASPs stream a video file to 3G mobile phones, they have to convert the file to a format that is suitable for each handset model. The new service does everything from converting video files to streaming using video compression technology for mobile phones. Normally, a system covering conversion to streaming costs about eight million yen to set up, requires several months to implement and costs 800,000 yen per month to operate. However, the initial fee for Streamwing Mobile Plan costs only 105,000 yen, and the monthly charge starts from 105,000 yen.
