| TOKYO, JAPAN / MADRID, SPAIN- NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and Telefonica International Wholesale Services (Telefonica Wholesale), two leading global telecommunications carriers, announced today an agreement to allow the interconnection of their international data networks. The agreement will enable both companies to increase their coverage through a seamless international network covering almost all the Asia Pacific Region, the United States, Latin America and Europe. Telefonica Wholesale will leverage NTT Com's unrivaled coverage of the Asia Pacific region to expand its global reach, while NTT Com will extend its coverage in Latin America through Telefonica's unique network. The complimentary nature of both networks will bring significant benefits to customers of both companies by providing more reliable, secure, seamless connectivity as well as fully-managed network solutions.
