NTT Com Announces Reorganization of Global Operations

TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today reorganization measures to take maximum advantage of growing demand among Japanese and multinational companies for value-added global services, such as hosting, on-demand services, and IT outsourcing.

In the increasingly competitive U.S. market, where mega-carriers such as regional Bell operators and leading solutions providers are introducing high-valued-added services with full line-ups, NTT Com will strengthen operations by shifting Verio’s global IP network services and dedicated hosting for large and midsize enterprises to NTT America. In Europe, Verio Europe, which provides mainly dedicated hosting services, was made a subsidiary of NTT Europe.

These changes will enable NTT America and NTT Europe to provide value-added, one-stop solution services augmented with hosting and IT-outsourcing services built on NTT Com’s global networks. Moreover, Verio will focus on hosting services for small and medium enterprises corporations (SMEs).

NTT Com plans to start these reorganization measures in the U.S. and Europe as soon as possible.

In Asia, NTT Singapore has been designated NTT Com’s regional headquarters for Southeast Asian markets, and will coordinate with NTT America and NTT Europe. Operations have also been scaled up in the fast-growing markets of India and China, including the establishment of wholly owned subsidiaries in both countries, to respond to increased demand and growing competition.

In line with these global changes, NTT Com established a Global Business Division today to oversee global services and provide one-stop support for customers’ global operations, taking advantage of NTT Com’s worldwide presence. Furthermore, NTT Com has dissolved its existing Global Services Business Division.
