NTT Com Wins World Communication Award for Best Customer Care

TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications (NTT Com) won top honors for Best Customer Care at the seventh annual World Communication Awards in London on October 3, 2005.
Becoming the first Asian carrier to earn the coveted award in this category, NTT Com topped other shortlisted companies that included BT Global, BT Infonet, Equant and Vanco.

The World Communication Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the telecommunications industry. This year, more than 300 major telecom carriers and vendors around the world vied for the prestigious honors, which are awarded in 12 categories.

NTT Com was honored for the following: 1) a wide range of professional network management services to help clients maintain high network availability, 2) strong strategic support teams, and 3) strong partnerships. David Molony, Editor in Chief of Total Telecom, commented that “Customer support is one of the key elements of international telecoms services, and Best Customer Care is one of the most keenly contested categories in the World Communication Awards. This year we received entries from 15 major telecoms companies in Europe and Asia-Pacific. The judges were impressed by all the entries, and the efforts and investment telecoms companies are making in customer care. NTT Communications can be proud to have succeeded in the face of very strong competition.”

This is NTT Com’s latest World Communication Award, following its wins in 2004 for Best Global Carrier and Best New Service for its IPv6/v4 Dual Service. In addition, NTT Com was honored with the Best Technology Foresight award for its IPv6 service, as well as named Best Regional Carrier - Asia Pacific in 2002.
