NTT Com Seals Wireless Broadband Roaming Deal with ePLDT
– NTT Com Accelerates Roaming for Wi-Fi Users in Asia

TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications (NTT Com), a member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), expanded its wireless broadband roaming coverage to the Philippines by sealing roaming deals with leading operator ePLDT, Inc. NTT Com also has roaming arrangements with other WBA members, including KT (Korea), T-Mobile USA (USA), British Telecom (United Kingdom), Telecom Italia (Italy), Telstra (Australia), StarHub (Singapore) and Maxis (Malaysia).

NTT Com customers will now be able to use their Wi-Fi subscriptions for a consistent, global wireless broadband experience to access information, communications and entertainment at more than 35,000 Wi-Fi hotspot locations across Asia–Pacific, North America and Europe, including 1,600 within Japan.

It is expected that other members of the WBA will join the roaming arrangements in the near future, further broadening the WBA footprint in which NTT Com Hotspot customers can roam with a single Wi-Fi subscription.

The deals further reinforce NTT Com's ongoing commitment to providing customers with a reliable, dependable, carrier-grade Wi-Fi experience through its Hotspot service.

NTT Com Hotspot subscribers will be invited to experience the newly added hotspots in the Philippines at no additional charge and for a limited time through September 30, 2005 (JST).

Formed in March 2003, the WBA is one of the pioneers in Wi-Fi/WLAN services collaboration and is focused on improving five key areas for wireless broadband consumers: Global Coverage, Confidence in Quality, Reliability, True Mobility and Good Customer Experience. NTT Com is a founding member and the only Japan-based member of the WBA.
