NTT Com to Offer Arcstar Global Security Operation Service

| TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today that it will launch the Arcstar Global Security Operation Service which becomes immediately available in 88 countries worldwide. The service combines equipment rental and installation, 24/7 network monitoring, and other administrative tasks of corporate intranets into one security service solution package for multinational corporations. Continual growth of the mobile PC environment in global corporate networks has heightened the risks of illegal access and virus attacks, which can affect entire organizations' operation. The Arcstar Global Security Operation Service will minimize those risks by isolating such incidents in one LAN environment using security devices such as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)* installed at the network edge. NTT Com's Security Operations Center will provide 24/7 monitoring to take immediate actions when detecting any unusual activities on corporate LAN/WANs. Arcstar Global IP-VPN service users have an advantage in subscribing to the Arcstar Global Security Operation Service because of the single point of contact at NTT Com. "With this service customers do not have to make big financial commitment to install proprietary security devices and thus optimize their IT budgets," said Mr. Kimio Tamura, Vice President of the Product Management Group at the Global Services Business Division. "We will further expand our global managed network and IT service offerings to provide total network support to our customers." *Intrusion detection systems (IDS): notifies the administrator etc. upon discovery of illegal access, while also keeping a record of the access. Intrusion prevention systems (IPS): adds a firewall function to IDS to automatically prevent illegal access when such attempts occur.
