From San Francisco to Tokyo to Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to Sydney,
Jetting Across the Globe With Wi-Fi Is Now Easier and More Accessible Than Ever

TOKYO, JAPAN – NTT Communications (NTT Com), a member of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), today announced its participation in a series of roaming arrangements with four other major international wireless operators.

NTT Com customers will now be able to take their Wi-Fi subscription to participating WBA carrier member countries and enjoy a consistent, global wireless broadband experience with access to information, communications and entertainment at more than 6,500 Wi-Fi hotspot locations from the Asia-Pacific to Oceania to North America (1,000 of which are already available for subscribers within Japan).

This announcement further reinforces NTT Com's on-going commitment to provide customers with a reliable and dependable, carrier-grade Wi-Fi experience through its Hotspot service.

Participating WBA members include: T-Mobile USA (USA), Telstra (Australia), StarHub (Singapore), Maxis (Malaysia) and NTT Com (Japan). It is expected that the other members of WBA will join in the roaming arrangements in the near future, further broadening the WBA footprint into which NTT Com Hotspot customers can roam with single Wi-Fi subscription account.

NTT Com Hotspot subscribers will be able to benefit from these international roaming arrangements at no additional charge through the remainder of 2004. Prices for international roaming in 2005 and beyond will be determined and announced at a later time.

"This announcement redefines the way that international travelers will stay connected while traveling around the world," said Kyong Yu, chairman of the WBA. "For the first time ever, the customers of our participating carriers will be able to roam throughout the world with one Wi-Fi account. These arrangements set the standard for a uniform and consistent approach to global roaming that should help drive widespread adoption of Wi-Fi".

Formed in March 2003, the WBA is one of the pioneers in Wi-Fi/WLAN services collaboration and is focused on improving five key areas for wireless broadband consumers: Global Coverage, Confidence in Quality, Reliability, True Mobility and Good Customer Experience.

Tetsuya Funabashi, vice president, Ubiquitous Services Department and product owner of NTT Com Hotspot said, "As the global arm of NTT Group, NTT Com Hotspot has been vigorously pursuing the expansion of its footprint worldwide. These historic roaming arrangements further demonstrate our serious commitment to ubiquitous broadband networks. Additionally, Wi-Fi subscribers from participating WBA carriers can now roam into our world-class, high speed, and secure network of more than 1,000 NTT Com Hotspot locations throughout Japan."

NTT Com is a founding member and the only Japan-based member of the WBA.
