NTT Com to Establish Representative Office in India

TOKYO, JAPAN –– NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today that it will open an NTT Communications India Representative Office in Mumbai by mid August. The new office will enhance NTT Com's support for its Arcstar Global IP-VPN service in the country. This NTT Com flagship service enables end-to-end management in India via an IP-VPN node set up in Mumbai using leading-edge multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology.

NTT Com earlier teamed up in May with Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL), India's largest international telecom carrier, to provide the Arcstar Global IP-VPN service on the subcontinent from the Mumbai node.

Permission to set up the representative office has been duly granted by the Reserve Bank of India, and it will officially open as soon as remaining administrative procedures have been completed. The office will be headed by Kenji Sato, Senior Manager of the Corporate Planning Department.
