NTT Com to Commence Global IP-VPN Solution Package
Covering 124 Countries and Regions
|
TOKYO, JAPANNTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that it will commence Global IP-VPN Solution Package service starting September 18, 2003.
The package combines NTT Com's MPLS-based Global IP-VPN Service and its IPSec Tunneling Service via Internet VPN. This enables users to construct a private network connecting a maximum 124 countries and regions, which constitutes one of the largest areas that can be covered by a global IP-VPN.
The new package service, which enhances network reliability while reducing network operating and management costs, comes with one-stop total network management features including a backup solution. Options include traffic management, and LAN device maintenance and management (see Attachments 1 and 2). Also, NTT Com will offer assistance to users in subscribing to local ISPs.
Backup Solution
The Global IP-VPN Solution Package realizes a highly reliable private network while reducing construction and operational costs. Specifically, the Global IP-VPN and IPSec Tunneling services in combination provide automatic backup if a malfunction occurs in the Global IP-VPN Service, by switching network traffic to the IPSec Tunneling Service.
Traffic Management Option
By installing a traffic-control device at the customer site, user traffic can be adjusted for each business application, enabling the user to set a target bandwidth for each application. Furthermore, the user can monitor traffic in real-time via the web.
LAN Device Maintenance and Management Option
This optional service offers 24/7/365 maintenance and management for LAN devices on the customer site, such as servers and switches. This minimizes IT resource downtime and its impact on business operations.
Also, NTT Com can further enhance the solution package by tailoring to client needs in terms of data center, security management, and VoIP services.
For the specific list of serviced countries and regions, please see Attachment 3. Also, please note that traffic management and LAN device maintenance and management options may not be available in some countries/regions, and that contract-related and other fees of local ISPs will be charged in local currencies.
