NTT Com Announces Strategy for becoming Global IP Solution Company
Focuses on solutions, network management, security, and global services

TOKYO, JAPANNTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) today announced a comprehensive strategy for transforming the company from a "Global IP Company" to a "Global IP Solution Company."
NTT Com achieved its previous goal of becoming a Global IP Company by shifting its core business from telephony services to global IP services starting in April 2000. Now entering the next phase of this transformation, NTT Com will build on the foundation it established in the first phase. Under the new strategy, the company will meet key IP-based needs of customers by focusing on four business domainssolutions, network management, security and global serviceswhich together will provide the firm's main sources of new revenues.
Solutions
NTT Com will offer one-stop, total services for corporations, government bodies and individuals. Services to corporations and government bodies will support open IT systems and IP migration, as well as IT resource management. Solutions will cover areas such as multipurpose cards imbedded with IC memory chips and web-based call centers that incorporate VoIP technology.
For individuals, NTT Com will offer service packages that combine telephone, Internet, e-commerce and online content based on the "CoDen" (My Use) concept. NTT Com will offer personal solutions that provide individuals with comprehensive communications capabilities for information output, processing, storage and hosting. In the future, the company also plans to provide individuals with ubiquitous solutions and services based on IPv6 technology.

Network Management
NTT Com services will enable not only NTT Com networks, but also the increasingly diverse facilities and services of other carriers, to be managed on a one-stop, seamless, secure and highly simplified basis to realize a ubiquitous environment. These services will be enhanced by thoroughly standardizing internal IT-management processes in accordance with global practices.

Security
