Collaborate on Consulting Services for
IT Infrastructure Management

September 28, 2001, Tokyo, Japan-NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and Tivoli Systems Japan, Inc, an IBM (NYSE: IBM) company, today announced that the two companies are collaborating on consulting services for IT infrastructure management aimed at multinational corporations.
The collaboration will feature teams made up of consultants from NTT Com's Global Professional Services (GPS) Department, a consulting department of NTT Com established in May 2001, and consulting architects from Tivoli Systems. "Together we will leverage the strengths of the two companies to provide our customers with complete end-to-end management solutions and services utilizing NTT Com's delivery capabilities and Tivoli's systems management technologies," said Mr Tatsuo Kawasaki, VP & Executive Manager, NTT Communications GPS Department.
"As companies transition their business model to an e-business, the importance of application availability, quality of end user experience and security become critical to their business' success," said Mr. Kazuhiro Suzuki, general manager, Tivoli Systems Japan. "Tivoli's solutions are targeted at addressing these requirements, while at the same time, reducing the cost of systems management and operations. Our collaboration with NTT Com will focus on helping our clients understand their specific business requirements and designing tailored solutions to meet them."
The two companies will offer proposal-based solutions to customers starting from October 1, 2001.

The GPS Department of NTT Com currently supplies its customers with a comprehensive range of outsourcing services, from consulting to systems design, implementation, and operation, with the aim of assisting its customers in the transformation of their businesses. NTT Com's GPS Department plans to expand its solutions services to include business process management, CRM (customer relationship management), and IT investment performance evaluation. NTT Com plans to collaborate broadly with other companies in offering these additional services.
