Hotspot Roaming Service Goes Worldwide

NTT Communications (NTT Com) is providing wireless broadband Internet access worldwide via its Hotspot Global Broadband Roaming Service, which it launched with major roaming operator iPass inc. in April.

NTT Com is Japan’s first wireless LAN operator to offer a global broadband roaming service. The original domestic-only version of the Hotspot service was introduced in May 2002.

To access the Internet via an iPass wireless LAN access point, the user simply establishes a connection and inputs their Hotspot user ID and password.

iPass access points are offered in some 1,000 locations, including airports and hotels, in Argentina, Australia, Denmark, Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, Singapore, Spain, UK and USA.

Including existing Hotspot points in Japan, the service is now available in nearly 1,500 locations worldwide.
