“CoDen” Concept Defines New Services for Individual Customers

NTT Communications (NTT Com) has introduced its “CoDen” concept of personalized solutions to provide individual customers with comprehensive capabilities for generating, processing, storing and hosting information.

Introduced in February, CoDen combines the Japanese words for individual and electricity to express the concept of “personalized telecom services.”

Under the CoDen concept, NTT Com packages services into various plans.

The Cocoa Plan, for example, targets groups of people who need to store and share information, such as photos and files, or share schedules and journals. Available to users of any ISP, the plan is distinguished from free online storage services by its high level of security. The monthly cost is just ¥300 per user.

The Wide Plan for users of NTT Com’s “OCN” ISP service bundles the Cocoa Plan with multiple email addresses and automatic virus checking. The monthly cost is ¥650.

And finally, the Open Plan packages NTT Com’s “Hotspot” wireless LAN service and the Cocoa Plan for customers of any ISP. The monthly cost is ¥1,600.

In the coming future, new CoDen plans will bundle simplified web page creation and voice-over-IP applications with various services.
