Alliances to Promote Growth of "Blade" e-Authentication Services

NTT Communications (NTT Com) has recently formed partnerships to enhance development of "Blade," a set of services providing corporate customers with electronic authentication capabilities. Incorporating state-of-the-art applications such as single sign-on and e-signature, Blade's e-authentication platform realizes a secure and seamless e-business environment.

In the first collaboration announced on July 8, NTT Com teamed up with international credit card firm JCB and systems integrator TIS Inc. to develop inter-corporate e-settlement applications. By integrating JCB's e-settlement solutions with Blade's technological capabilities, inter-corporate e-transactions of credit card payments can be made based on the e-authentication platform—an industry first.

On July 22, NTT Com also signed an agreement with Mitsui & Co., Ltd., a major general trading firm, to develop business applications for corporate users based on e-authentication technology. The partnership, combining Mitsui's Trustella e-authentication consulting know-how with NTT Com's Blade service expertise, is expected to generate 300 million yen in sales its first year.
