NTT Communications (NTT Com) launched the NTT Com Universal Description Discovery and Integration (UDDI) Business Registry in October, marking the start of Asia's first public UDDI business registry.
The registry is a globally accessible catalog of companies and their products, making it possible for other companies to quickly and accurately identify potential partners and customers.
The registry is based on IBM's public UDDI node, with the user interface and management code translated into Japanese. NTT Com operates the registry on an application server built with IBM's WebSphere infrastructure software. The data repository, from which users retrieve corporate data as needed, is run with IBM's DB2 database management software.
The UDDI Project managers selected NTT Com as the first business registry node operator in Asia in December 2001. By participating in the project, NTT Com expects to help customers and partners take greater advantage of the wide range of e-commerce services available on the web. The company is also offering related services for corporate transactions, such as authentication and message receipt notification. |
