International MPLS-Type IP-VPN Service Makes China Debut

| NTT Communications (NTT Com) and Beijing Telecom Corporation launched China's first international MPLS-type IP-VPN service on March 15, 2002. Introduced in January 2001, NTT Com's Global IP-VPN service is providing multinational corporations in 75 countries with high-speed, highly-secure, low-cost global IP networks. The service is expected to meet increasing demand in China for network capabilities from the vast number of international firms establishing operations there. NTT Com has been supplying network and system integration services in China through joint ventures in Beijing and Shanghai and global services, such as international telephone, leased line, frame relay and ATM operations, in partnership with the China Telecom Group. |
