NTT Com Celebrates Tokyo East Data Center Start-Up

Some 200 potential customers and executives of NTT Communications (NTT Com) celebrated the launch of Tokyo East Data Center at its opening ceremony in Tokyo on October 11.

In partnership with IT industry leaders, NTT Com is using the new data center to provide one-stop outsourcing ranging from network services (direct connection to NTT Com's high-speed IP backbone, as well as IP-VPN, frame-relay and leased-circuit services) to applications.

Superb reliability is offered, both in terms of facility design and system security. The facility is both flood-resistant and capable of withstanding seismic tremors equivalent to those felt during the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995.

Unauthorized entry into the building is prevented by an advanced security system incorporating non-contact IC cards, onsite staffing, monitor cameras and biometric sensors.

The data center thus provides customers requiring high-level reliability and security, such as global financial companies, with secure data center and network systems on an uninterrupted 24/7 basis.

NTT Com operates over 80 data centers in Asia, the U.S. and Europe.
