NTT Com, Sun and CTC Ally for iDC Services

| NTT Communications (NTT Com), Sun Microsystems K.K. (Sun) and Itochu Techno-Science Corporation (CTC) agreed to form an alliance in the field of the UNIX-based Internet data center (iDC) services NTT Com provides. The alliance includes the development and marketing of iDC solution services, as well as procurement, operation and maintenance of the systems. NTT Com will be responsible for system operation and overall management of the service provision, while Sun and CTC will handle system provision and integration, respectively. NTT Com expects to enhance its UNIX-based iDC services with the synergy created by combining Sun's hardware and middleware with CTC's system integration know-how. In conjunction with the alliance, NTT Com became the first Japanese telecom carrier to be granted Sun Microsystems' SunToneTM certification, which is granted to service providers and software vendors that meet Sun's standards for high quality. |
