e-VLAN Offers World's First Global Transparent LAN Ethernet Service

| NTT Communications (NTT Com) launched the world's first global-scale transparent LAN Ethernet service on February 21. The Arcstar Global e-VLAN Package service, initially available in 54 countries, includes domestic and global Arcstar network services, Ethernet switch rental and co-location for the construction of global intranets. Customers will use e-VLAN to create LAN environments, joining offices worldwide for high-quality closed-network communication at broadband speeds of 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. The service is particularly suited to multinational corporations that require enhanced broadband connectivity. NTT Com assures high levels of service quality and reliability through redundant network construction and web-based reporting, as well as a wide range of service-level agreements. The service includes extensive customization and flexible construction for seamless, high-quality global networks. Combining the service with NTT Com's data center services can minimize startup and operational costs. NTT Com first launched the e-VLAN service in Japan in April 2001. |
