GIGASTREAM

GIGASTREAM TypeF

This is a leased line service using MPLS technology to flexibly and economically create wide area networks through partially guaranteed bandwidth, priority control and metered billing.

GIGASTREAM TypeF

GIGASTREAM TypeF provides end-to-end connectivity between the customer’s offices using layer 2 MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) and Ethernet interfaces. It is possible to economically build a wide area network suited to the office size while keeping the high reliability and high quality features of leased line services.

Features & Benefits

GIGASTREAM TypeF is a leased line service that provides end-to-end connectivity between the customer’s offices using layer 2 MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) technology and versatile Ethernet interfaces. It provides wide bandwidth, flexibility and economy while keeping the high reliability and high quality features of leased lines. We can flexibly support the need to build IT networks between a variety of offices through connections not only with the devices of customers using colocation services, but also those with transit services.

Metered and partially guaranteed bandwidth can be selected

We offer a "metered" service where fees are determined according to the volume of traffic used, and a "partially guaranteed bandwidth" service enabling burst traffic above the agreed bandwidth. Customers that have comparatively little traffic fluctuation can choose economical plans such as partially guaranteed bandwidth service suited to their traffic patterns.

Combinations of a wide range of lines are available

We provide a broad menu ranging from 0.1Mbps to 10Gbps with high-quality fiber-optic access lines and versatile Ethernet interfaces (10Mbps, 100Mbps, 1Gbps, 10Gbps) in the transit section. This can provide the bandwidth required according to the traffic volume and frequency between offices.

Realizing high-quality communication with priority control functionality

It is possible to use priority control functionality to send packets with relatively low priority such as Internet browsing while guaranteeing bandwidth for IP data packets with a high priority such as VoIP packets and real-time video data. Bandwidth is selectively guaranteed for packets designated for priority control, ensuring they are properly sent even during congestion.

Improving reliability through redundancy in relay sections

Transit trunk trouble is dealt with quickly by having redundant paths in transit sections. As traffic engineering functions using layer 2 MPLS technology have been employed, only the lines housed in the section where an outage occurs are quickly switched over to backup lines already set as alternative paths.

Proof of high reliability and use of two SLAs

Our SLAs (Service Level Agreements) apply to recovery from outages and delays in installing lines. We will return the specified fee if we are unable to maintain the guaranteed service level.
Note: When using the metered service, the amount obtained by multiplying the fee for the minimum speed by the prescribed conversion ratio will be returned.

Pricing

Fees are determined according to the plan line (metered and partially guaranteed bandwidth). We also offer optional discounts and services.

Case Study

Integration of high-quality voice and data
If you want to implement IP telephony but you are concerned about quality, choose TypeF (partially guaranteed bandwidth). You can bundle together VoIP traffic and Internet traffic, and greatly reduce communications costs. As priority can be given to VoIP traffic using priority control functions, it is possible to ensure high-quality calls that do not cut out. Transmission can also be performed even if there is burst traffic, so there is no need for any additional fees.

More efficient streaming delivery
If you have doubts about paying a flat monthly fee even though a line is not being used all the time, choose TypeF (metered). This is perfect for CATV and ISP clients that perform streaming of sports and live events. If data transmission is performed for a limited time every month, and the volume sent fluctuates, a metered service offers better value than a fixed rate service. 95 percentile billing makes it possible to deliver rich content more efficiently and economically.

Example of the creation of an Internet backbone line
By using the high-quality IP backbone and OCN service that we provide, you can enhance your IP connectivity smoothly and affordably.

Uses in server and storage backup
This affordable service can be used to ensure reliability through the distribution of your servers and storage. It is also possible to create systems with excellent disaster resilience by combining this with the colocation service used for providing our excellent operating environment.

Network distribution
GIGASTREAM supports business continuity in the face of a variety of risks, and is able to create networks that are economical, flexible and robust, through optimal route setting and multi-carrier backups.
More specifically, when building a DR (Disaster Recovery) network to provide redundant information assets in a remote location in case of a disaster, it is possible to set routes to avoid locations likely to be affected by disaster.

2:N networks
GIGASTREAM supports business continuity in the face of a variety of risks, and is able to create networks that are economical, flexible and robust, through optimal route setting and multi-carrier backups.
Specifically, complete redundancy is provided for center lines that serve as business lifelines by providing redundant lines between data centers and stores. It is possible to create strong networks suited to BCM.

WAN acceleration solution using GIGASTREAM
This solution provides end-to-end WAN acceleration by installing a WAN accelerator in the customer’s building and building the network using GIGASTREAM.
When data transfers such as file transfers are performed via WAN, network latency has the effect of significantly reducing transfer performance. This WAN acceleration solution uses proprietary protocols and caching technology within the network to accelerate data transfers. The interface with the customer is normal Ethernet.
