NTT Com Named as a Leader in IDC ITMarketScape: Asia/Pacific Managed Security Services 2015 Vendor Assessment

TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications (NTT Com) announced today that it has been positioned as a Leader in International Data Corporation’s (IDC) first ever "IDC ITMarketScape: Asia/Pacific Managed Security Services 2015 Vendor Assessment" report (doc # AP251064, May 2015). The IDC ITMarketScape represents a vendor assessment including both quantitative and qualitative characteristics that define success in today’s managed security services market.

IDC evaluated 16 organizations that offer managed security services (MSS) in Asia/Pacific by conducting in-depth interviews with MSS providers and more than 20 interviews with providers’ customers.

IDC cites NTT Com’s key strengths as:

  • A great level of flexibility in terms of GTM (Go To Market) strategies by leveraging its subsidiaries and partnerships with consulting firms.
  • Strong customer support in the area of real-time notification of high risk threats/security events as well as advanced detection (i.e. real time malware detection services) and analytics services with highly flexible options, including self-service to onboard customers.
  • Further enhancement and continuous investment in Research and Development (R&D)

According to Cathy Huang, Research Manager, Services and Cloud Research Group, IDC Asia/Pacific and the lead analyst for this study, "NTT Com’s security strategy aims to offer total risk management to the entire ICT environment (including on premise, cloud, and datacenters) in various forms, including professional services, solution implementation and managed security services. It has a comprehensive services catalog for different groups of customers, including global multi-national companies, regional and local companies. The company is moving lots of low-value or commoditized security services towards automated or self-service options. More importantly, NTT Com plans to deliver or manage many of these services leveraging software-defined networking or network function virtualizations (NFV). "
