The "Disaster Recovery (System & Storage)" provides a solution for protecting enterprises' important systems and data and ensuring business continuity in the event of a disaster.

Features & Benefits

This service is made up of three solutions.

Solution 1. Multi-location Disaster Recovery Solution (MDR)

This provides total integration of the design, construction, maintenance and operation of robust data centers, secure networks and excellent system operation that are essential for safe and secure disaster measures and business continuity.

Solution 2. Metropolitan Multi DR Pack

This provides optional backup to remote locations for customers using data center services mainly in Metropolitan Multi Data Center operated by NTT Communications in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
This is a high-quality service that is easy to implement and affordable targeting customers that back up data locally.

Solution 3. Metropolitan Multi DR Kit

This is a service that provides (local) disk backup of customers' sites installed mainly in the Metropolitan Multi Data Center to a dedicated DR storage server.

Solution 1. Multi-location Disaster Recovery Solution (MDR)

Service details

• Rapid data replication and restore processing using storage disks
• By replicating data in a remote location, it is possible to handle disasters without transporting tapes.
• Disaster failover functions make it possible to keep RTO (Recovery time objective) to a minimum

Example of service configuration and usage

- Backup center: Can be selected from Chiyoda, Chuo, Koto, Yokohama, Saitama,
Toshima, Osaka, San Jose, Virginia and Frankfurt*

- Network: Secure high-capacity NTT Communications lines are used

- Data storage media: Storage disk

* Consult us separately for other sites.

Note: It is necessary to use separate access line services from NTT Communications as lines from customer sites to backup sites and access lines for use by clustering users during disasters.

Solution 2. Metropolitan Multi DR Pack

Service details

• When using existing backup software, the solution can be implemented simply by changing the backup location, and installation work can be completed in as little as a day.*
• Complex backup management is made more simple using disk-based data management and compression technology.
• Data is securely stored on a backup site. Restores can also be implemented on a file basis.
• Customer systems and DR Pack are connected using an Ethernet interface, and NTT Communications handles troubleshooting of storage, etc., system administration and asset management.
• Data is replicated and stored in a remote location using storage functions. It is possible to reduce the transportation cost and the associated personnel costs.

*It may not be possible to implement this depending on the type of backup software.

This solution can be made up of combinations of 1 to 3.

1. Location
   Metropolitan data center primary site: Chiyoda, Chuo, Koto, Toshima, Yokohama, Saitama
   Metropolitan data center secondary site: Chiyoda, Chuo, Koto, Toshima, Yokohama, Saitama
2. Storage capacity: up to 1.2TB/up to 2.4TB/up to 4.8TB
   (The actual capacity used may vary depending on the data compression ratio used when performing backups.)
3. User interface: 100BASE-T/1000BASE-T
4. Option: Backup server creation

Solution3. Metropolitan Multi DR Kit

Service details

• When using existing backup software, the solution can be implemented simply by changing the backup location, and installation work can be completed in as little as a day.*
• Complex backup management is not required due to the use of disk-based data management and compression technology.
• Customer systems and DR Kit are connected using an Ethernet interface, and NTT Communications handles troubleshooting of storage, etc., system administration and asset management.
• As the storage has replication functions, it is easy to add data replication functions to remote locations in the future. (Expansion to Metropolitan Multi DR Pack.)
