NTT Communications Positioned as a "Leader" in Gartner 2014 Report:
"Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers"

TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), a data, cloud and international communications leader within the NTT (NYSE: NTT) Group, announced today it has been positioned in the Leaders quadrant of the "Magic Quadrant for Global Network ServiceProviders" (Magic Quadrant) report*1 published by Gartner Inc. on March 20. NTT Com was evaluated for the completeness of its vision and its execution capabilities.

Gartner’s Magic Quadrant report evaluates service providers for the completeness of their vision and their ability to execute those visions. According to Gartner, "Leaders have a full portfolio of voice and data products, coupled with above-average service and support, wide global coverage, and competitive pricing. They have a strong vision that includes adopting more information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities, which is a strategy they articulate clearly and openly".

NTT Com’s recent initiatives include the acquisition of Virtela Technology Services Incorporated (Virtela), a leading global managed and cloud-based network services company in Denver, Colorado, USA. This creates a single provider with sophisticated platforms and global network services capable of fulfilling not only current enterprise connectivity needs, but also emerging requirements for hybrid MPLS and Internet networks to establish more flexible, secure and high-speed access to cloud services.. In addition, from the second half of the current fiscal year, NTT Com will begin introducing cloud-based managed services utilizing network function virtualization (NFV) technology,

Through these and other initiatives, NTT Com, a global ICT partner, intends to further expand and upgrade global network services that enable customers to grow their global businesses effectively and efficiently.

According to Gartner, "Magic Quadrants provides a graphical competitive positioning of technology and service providers where market growth is high and provider differentiation is distinct. Magic Quadrants depict markets in the middle phases of their life cycle by using a two-dimensional matrix that evaluates vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute. A Magic Quadrant has 15 weighted criteria that plot vendors based on their relative strengths in a particular market." *2
