TOKYO, JAPAN - NTT Communications Corporations (NTT Com) announced today that it has started offering English-language support with its "050 plus" app for low-rate IP phoning via smartphones.
The 050 plus service enables users to save on both domestic and international calls, even when on the go. By simply changing the language setting, the app now can start automatically with an English interface on Android phones. An iOS version is on its way. App can be downloaded for free.
New English Interface
As an added bonus, NTT Com has extended an on-going campaign, which waives the 315 yen basic monthly charge in the first two calendar months for each new 050 phone number, until the end of October.
Applications can be handled online at http://506506.ntt.com/english/ipphone/plus/step. For additional details about 050 plus, please visit http://506506.ntt.com/english/ipphone/plus.
The 050 plus subscriber receives a unique 050 IP phone number that appears on the other phone’s display, so receivers can recognize the caller. Regular phone calls also can be received with a 050 number. Voice mail is free, and subscribers can receive the recorded message as a voice file for easy playback.
Examples of low-cost rates for calls made with 050 plus are as follow:

Subscribers are responsible for packet-data communication charges when connecting to the Internet to download the app, place/receive calls, etc. Using the service with a flat-rate packet-data plan is recommended.
